Our Experience
2019 - 2022
Zimmerman Advertising
During Edward’s senior year, he was brought on board to work with Zimmerman as part of their marketing youth program, contributing to the company’s vision as an intern. Over the next 3 years and 30+ successful campaigns, he gained rare hands-on experience working alongside teams behind nationally recognized household brands. Developing a strong foundation in strategy, client relations, and high-level campaign execution well beyond his years.
Herrera House
Following his time at Zimmerman, Edward founded Herrera House, where he worked closely with brick & mortar businesses to build and develop their marketing departments from the ground up. Through this, he helped multiple companies create structure, scale their efforts, and execute effective marketing systems. While successful, this chapter led to a deeper realization to focus on a niche he was truly a part of. This shift ultimately led to his exit and the creation of Grapple Department, where he could apply his experience within a world he understands firsthand as an operator and consumer.

2025 - Present
At Grapple Department, Edward and his team now focus on helping grappling academies grow through high-level marketing systems, offer creation, and lead generation tailored specifically to the world of martial arts. By combining proven strategies with deep, firsthand understanding of the space. Grapple Department works to modernize how academies attract, convert, and retain students. Through this work, Gathurd was developed as a product of Grapple Department. Designed to give clients and organizations the infrastructure to build, manage, and scale their teams/communities in one place. Extending marketing efforts into long-term growth and connection.
